Maja and JD wrote to me the week after the election because they had decided to move their wedding date up by 18 months and wanted to elope while we were still under Obama’s presidency. Their timing was perfect because I was already in the early stages of planning an elopement event called Love Wins Out with other concerned and compassionate members of the LA Wedding Vendors & Creatives Collectives. After explaining the event to Maja & JD, they were delighted to participate and roped several of their friends into eloping there too! I’ll have a full post about Love Wins Out and all the amazing people who were a part of it next week, but in the meantime here are some of my favorite images of Maja and JD. I love that they got ready together, that their children were able to witness their ceremony, that Maja was a barefoot bride, that they jumped over the broom in their ceremony, and they both have the best laughs and smiles. I feel such a connection to these two and am so overwhelmed with love and joy to have been a part of making their wedding day happen in such a special way!
So many thanks to the vendors that participated in Love Wins Out (credits at the bottom of this post) and stay tuned for more photos from the full event!
