Botanical Garden Engagement Photos on Film – Jim + Jue

It’s hard to describe the feeling when one of your best friends from high school, someone who’s known you for over a half your lifetime, asks you to take their engagement photos. At least it’s hard for me. Jim and I met on the first day of 9th grade in our English class, stayed friends throughout film school, moved out to Los Angeles within a year of each other, and at one point lived in the same apartment complex. So when Jim told me he and his lovely fiancée Jue mentioned we would both be home in Tallahassee for the holidays and that would be a perfect time for their engagement photos, I was beyond honored. We went to Maclay Gardens on an overcast day because the Spanish moss, oak trees, magnolias, and reflecting pool are such a serene natural setting, and then the sun peeked out for a few moments and made some beautiful light. I love the way these two make each other laugh and I’m so happy for them to have found each other, and many more years of hanging out with them from coast to coast!
