Photography Style

Something old, something new

My photography coverage includes both digital and film. Shooting with digital cameras means speed, accuracy, and consistency in documenting weddings and portraits. The film cameras I use are reproductions of vintage Holga and Diana toy cameras. The medium format film turns out square photos with a dreamy, retro look. I also have 35mm cameras that I especially like using for black and white film. Offering film and digital images means the best of both worlds and allows me to deliver photos as cool, artistic, and unique as the subjects.

Something borrowed

I’m self-taught as a photographer, but I have degrees in both Literature and Film Production and those both influence how I look at things. Those backgrounds show up as a strong sense of storytelling and cinematic composition in my photography work. I’m also a documentary filmmaker and my love of documentaries leads to an emphasis on capturing candid and genuine moments and images.

Something blue

Because I love the way toy cameras look, especially the blue Diana!
