The end of the year is typically when all the best-of lists start rolling out – top movies, best albums, most significant historical events. I love reading through those lists, and I especially love looking through “year in pictures” wrap-ups, both from media outlets and friends. So I’m putting together a few of my favorite photos from the year, and decided to start with some roller derby shots. I’ve been a roller derby fan for a long time, but 2011 was my first year as a league photographer for the Los Angeles Derby Dolls. The skaters are so amazing, and the other league photographers have become friends and mentors. Getting to shoot for LADD this year was a great experience, and I’m already looking forward to next season!
