I’ve been holding on to these photos for way too long and it’s time to share them. I wanted to do a wedding inspiration shoot while I had some down time, so I teamed up with the amazing Emily of Grandes Fêtes for her design expertise. The theme Emily came up with centered around lemons, set in a modern Los Angeles loft with lots of DIY details. Emily designed the tablescapes for all three set-ups using vases and glassware she thrifted. She also crafted all the sweet details like the drink stirrers, the heart and lemon garlands, and the lemon card holders. Oh yeah, and did all the gorgeous floral arrangements and bouquet – she really does it all! But to keep it real I assisted in the handmade efforts by decorating the wedding cake on the dessert buffet, so if I can do it, anyone can. Our wonderful married friends Brett and Trina modeled for us, and they completely embodied what we had in mind. They forged their own wedding bands from quarters and Trina designed and sewed her own dress – it doesn’t get much more DIY than that! A lot of love and craftiness went into this shoot, and I had so much fun capturing both Brett and Trina and what a sweet, fun couple they are, as well as all the lovely design details that made the whole thing come together. There are a ton more photos but here is a glimpse at a few of my favorites!
A big shout out to all of the other awesome vendors who made this inspiration shoot possible:

And if anyone wants to check out what Brett and Trina’s real wedding looked like, my talented friends at Killer Nostalgia shot it on Super 8mm film!
