Film Fridays – Los Angeles Toy Camera and Multiple Exposures Photography

So far all of my Film Fridays posts have been single images taken on film, but when I was trying to decide on a photo for this week, it was impossible to keep it to just one. See, my awesome little sister Julia came to visit recently and on her previous trips we’ve done the Getty Museum, Griffith Observatory, Santa Monica Pier and Venice Beach. So in the interest of doing something new and different, I signed us up for a 2 hour workshop on Multiple Exposures at the Lomography Gallery Store in West Hollywood. We had a great time doing a photo walk around the Sunset strip, her rocking a Lomo LC-A and me with my Diana F+. Then when our rolls were done, we swapped them and shot over each other’s to get double and multiple exposures. I also experimented with a few panoramic shots in there too. I love how they all turned out, and all the colors and signs and randomness that make living in LA really fun for photography.

If you’re looking for something new to do with friends (or as an awesome first date, like one couple in our class!) the Lomography workshops and classes are cheap, fun, and accessible for all levels of photographers. And Julia loved the workshop so much she ended up buying a Diana Mini to take home with her!
